Or does this look like the biggest load of crass-barryness seen, since the Halfords Rinspeed stock clearance bargin bin?

I would actually feel embarrased driving down the road in that.

Maybe im just becoming old.

Yeah, it's too much. OTT.

Yep,

Civic Type R

I can't think who the target audience is, by the time an individual reaches the age that they can buy and insure one they should have matured enough to choose something more grown up.

I mean, who would want to take a perfectly acceptable car and chav it up with quad exhausts, a tuned up engine and lairy bolt on bits to make it look faster?

I guess FWD cars need alot of downforce these days ;)

Looks like an A45 on crack.

in a world of very noisy car design, Honda has gone down the even louder route to be noticed.

what a shame.

S2000 was such a well executed and handsome car.

Truly hideous.

Does it come with a complimentary back-to-front baseball cap and rubbish'n'bowlocks CD?

While its not a car for me, i can say though top marks for Honda in saying, "go on then, lets put that into production" - so many concept cars look radical and then get scaled so far back for the real world.

Good on them, horses for courses and all...

ps.. the insurance and target market - no idea who would want one...

@Deane - I have to disagree with the impreza comment though... you cant say a perfect non abused P1 would be a welcome additional to the dream garage fleet ? :-)

it must be capable of at least 240mph to justify that pile of crud attached to the body!

Get that ridiculous rear wing off and it is passable as a hot hatch.

I must be getting younger:dk::D

Oh,and talking of rear wings, the C63 black series is perfect in every way to me, apart from that monstrosity parked on the bootlid. Ruined a great looking car.

Despite being a serial Type-R offender, this one is keeping my wallet closed. I like the wide arches, but the back end is a mess.

Therein lies the problem, they haven't. The original concept drawings had a much more integrated and swooping spoiler, rather than the dogs dinner parked on the bootlid that made production.
