AMG A class A21

The UK is virtually the only country with a 70 mph limit. In most other European countries it's 130 kph (80) or 120 kph (75).
So a limit of 100mph would cover them nicely as I suggested?

I'm afraid your favourite statistic is either extremely selective, or complete rubbish. I once owned a 1969 Mustang 351 GT. In many ways it was a terrible car, but slow it wasn't (in a straight line). The only remaining auditable performance statistic I have from it is a record of it doing a 12.95 sec standing 1/4 mile at santa pod in about 1974. It would have been less with an LSD.

I suspect your 180 might just be a little slower, but much more economical (and 39 years newer).
No. It is the correct figure for the standard Mustang as given by Classic car magazine.

Apart from Germany, where a fair amount of the autobahn is still unrestricted.
Yes agreed. But that is gradually disappearing. And if Europe really means all the stuff it says on climate change, then it should all be restricted and replaced by a Europe-wide limit.

I've not noticed that personally, we'll be in Germany next week so I'll let you know if any of the routes we use have been restricted since last time. The new autobahn down to the Bodensee we used last year was certainly unrestricted. And in fine weather with light traffic it was no problem to cruise at 100+.

A nice part of the world southern Bavaria, I used to live and work near Lindau which is right on the shore of the Bodensee, (Lake Constance) :thumb:

My wife's uncle has a small yacht on the Bodensee, we went for a day out on it - beautiful. The drive down there (from near Leonberg, where they live) was great. Lovely sunny day, really nice new autobahn, very little traffic.

I lived in Lindenberg, which is about 20 minute drive from Lindau up a mountain. I worked for Liebherr Aeroteknik on Airbus A310 and A320 and Eurofighter. The village was tiny and real picturepostcard stuff, particularly in winter, except for the somewhat massive and some what out of place industrial unit at the end of the through road.

We'd regularly get 3-4 feet of snow a night being over 2000ft above sea level, and have to dig ourselves out of our apartment to go to work. The impressive thing was the roads were never closed. :thumb: Ahh happy days :)

The standard Mustang didn't have a 351ci V8 as standard. Bit like comparing a C180 with the AMG version.
