Another new project! Mercedes C55 AMG W203

Who would want 50k old plugs in there car....working fine or not?.....let alone taken out and put back!!!
I know , right ! not something I would do , but the Genuine MB plugs are supposed to be good for 100K miles and they are expensive , and there are 16 of them , and there are some out there who think they can do the AMG thing on a budget .

The C55 is probably the cheapest way to get into a 'real' AMG....but the word 'cheap' is relative with cars this age.

Spookily enough, I passed a very tidy black C55 on the M25 this afternoon.
I'm willing to bet the owner is still wondering why the heck a 3 Series BMW driver gave him the thumbs up as he went past.

That’s great, thank you! I appreciate the advice. I will start from where you suggested :)
I didn’t know the leads are different length.

Looking at that photo, I can see how much fun the crank position sensor would be. I hope I don’t have to change it 😄
You will have to change it if you are going to use the car . Buy a Bosch one now and keep it ready.

Not in my case , the one that I replaced 30K (ish) miles ago had no branding on it , the new Bosh one is doing just fine .
Stands to reason though that the original Bosch one must have failed for the one that you removed to need replacing too though! 😉

Good to see you back Sam. Missed your OCD posts:banana:. Keep them coming

Thank you! 🙏

Honestly, this OCD is a headache as I'm trying to chance perfection! Nothing can ever be perfect but I can't help myself 😄

Stunning. Better than factory. I love watching M539 on YouTube doing this sort of thing to various 20 year old Bimmers.

Keep the updates coming.

Thank you! 🙏
I love watching M359 as well, he really is a perfectionist! I wish I was half as good as he is

Not another AMG, Sam. I'm sick of bloody seeing um. 🤣
Seriously though, very nice! A Trio of AMGs not many can say that.
A nice pic of all 3 together, when you get the chance.
Thought I was OCD, but your on another, level.
Keep the pics, and progress coming.
😎🙂👍

🤣🤣
I know right! 😆
Thank you..... It's getting there slowly :)

It must have been the same C55 my friend also saw on the M25 recently. Can't be too many black C55 that have been spotted on the M25. If i'm not mistaken, the black one has 80k+ miles on the clock and my friend said it looked very clean!

I would like to put some miles on this car as it really is a lovely car and it would be a shame after all this work I'm putting into it to just leave it parked up like which is what I seem to do with most of my cars 🫣

Front fog lamps arrived and now fitted

Started putting the car back together

Exhaust fitted

The wheels are on the car now as well.
Two brand new Michelin tyres also fitted as the last owner had picked up a pun and the tyre place had only a budget tyre to fit that day. The car had 3 Michelins and one budget tyre which was as new but I hate when tyres are a different brand. The rear Michelins are as new also.
I also ordered new centre caps

I also fitted wheel spacers and I love how the wheels sit now. They come out perfect and sit flash with the wheel arches.
Car just came off the ramp when I took these photos so the suspension hadn't settled properly but it sits lovely, especially at the back.
I also need to drive it a bit more to clear out the paint on the rear discs as I haven't had a chance to drive it properly since I painted the underside and brakes on the car

That's Bl00dy lovely! Was the post lift, the inspiration for your Calipers. 😉🙂👍

Blue glass is the best 👌🏻

C'mon SAM, you just don't care  wot about that yellow chalk mark on the undertray beside the rh side exhaust box:mad:
How long does it take approx. to clean the underside to that level. Unbelievable how good it is. Keep it up. Your cars are outstanding:thumb:
Chalk mark🤔

I'll pull the dashcam card and see if I caught the black one on there; it did look in very good condition from what I saw of it.

I agree! I remember when my father had an E320 CDI W211 and that had blue glass all around. I think cars look better with blue glass.

You know what, you’re absolutely right! I need to sort that out. I tried to wash it off but it wouldn’t come off. I’ll try something else :)
Thank you! It takes a lot of time. It also depends how far you want to go and how bad the car might be. This car wasn’t too bad but the whole underside, cleaning, painting parts underneath plus the brakes, it took me 5 full days.
Now I’ll have to spend a bit more time to try and remove that yellow chalk mark 😆

Looks good on those spacers

Thank you! :)

My new windscreen on the S-Class is blue, i must admit it looks great

On the S classes, I think they look even better as it seems to change from, blue to purple, green, depends from which angle you look at the car
