Sometimes necessity is the mother of invention The chrome on the original button on the centre console lid started to peel. It is the only AMG badge on the car though, even though the car came with the factory AMG styling option (yes I know it's not a real AMG).

It's not the same theory.

Your car came with AMG mats. It did not come with an Ebay AMG badge on the boot

Yep AMG have supplied 'accessory' parts for standard MB cars for many decades. Wheels are the obvious one, my 1997 R129 also has the period correct AMG accessory back box on it:



And it just says "SL500" on the boot, btw

I've got one of them!! It is a genuine AMG accessory though and came from the dealer, hence reassuringly expensive

Unfortunately not

I too have an AMG Line. I have AMG mats and wheels but i don't have an AMG badge.

I was at the petrol station the other night and someone asked if it was an AMG and i politely replied no sorry not.

To be fair they did look confused i think most think an AMG Line is an AMG anyways.

So he maybe now thinks its not an AMG Line and it's just a Sport or something. Who knows

I did say it was an AMG Line and he looked even more perplexed

There was never a C350 in AMG guise despite the badging.
It's all about the engine, not the mats wheels or body kit.

No pretending , it's got a twin turbo and it's 4matic , so it would be what it says on the wings.
