When reading on US MB forums.
Yankees says these transmissions 722.631 suffer from aggressive tranny software!
The software is causing problems on the transmissions!
Many say go to the dealer and get a software upgrade on the transmission.
Yeah, I went to the dealer and asked this stupid question about a tranny software upgrade.
In Sweden MB dealership never heard of such thing about a tranny software upgrade on C43's!

How come this upgraded software only is offered in the US?
Was it ever offered in Europe at all?

Second question:
About resetting the transmission?
According to US forums many say toggle the switch W/S back and forth and the tranny will reset?
Does it vork?

Others say put the key in ignition press the accelerator pedal down for a while and then turn off the ignition, reset voila?
Does it vork?

I don't want to unplug my battery for reset!
What's de best solution to duu?

None of those methods for resetting the gearbox will work. The only way to reset the gearbox is on Star.

In regards to the transmission ecu software, thats what i mentioned in the other thread you started, that the AMG software is why the C43 transmissions tend to fail. Im sure ive read somewhere before that someone has got their C43 tranny ecu updated by a dealer but not sure.

Toggle the switch back and forwards... the switch will break

I have only switched it back and forth when standing still.
I don't tend to do it often.

I have read about this toggle on US forum.

I have to say when i do the key and acc pedal down thing i do it untill an oil can shows up on the millage section of the dash, then when i drive it does seam to change up more aggresively and quicker then before i did it.Oh and also the kick down seams more responsive

Trust me it is all placebo. I have checked all this with the Star and it does NOTHING!

only way to reset is by visiting stealership?
and they will huuk up the car to the STAR?
is this the only way to get a new response from the car?

Whats placebo??

giunea pigs gets sugar pills and porks get medicine!
then scientists check the results of both creatures how they behave and act with medicine vs placebo!

placebo is plain sugar pills gives no result

If you want reliability and longevity from the C43 transmission then change the fluid.

Mercedes doesn't feel this is necessary even with USA transmissions beginning to fail around 60K miles.

Drain the transmission, convertor, clean the pan and install a new filter....

This will add many years of happy motoring to your C43 :thumb:

I always find that cleaning your car makes it drive better...

Feel free to come and demonstrate this effect to me... Bucket's in the garage :D

Actually, the placebo effect is much more powerful than that.

Yeah, I can feel da sugar rush going through my vains!
I can't help it I'm a sugar junkie:bannana:
You see I go bananas!

Yep I do the oil change on my transmission.
Within 6 years of ownership I had to change it twice.
Although I have only covered 35.000km within 6 years.
My car is a lowmileage with 93.370km on the clock.
When I bought it it covered 59.000 km back in 2004
