Hi All

It's My insurance re-newal time again.
Currently with Tesco who were not bad last year.
This year thay have increased the premium (no claims)
Time to look for a better quote.

I have tried Go Compare and Meercat and the straight away come up with a cheaper quote.
Tesco £568:(
Go Compare £365:bannana:

I will phone tesco to complain to give them a go at dropping the price but has anybody got any other places worth trying?

Thanks

Steve

confused.com Worked for me.

Direct line have always beat any other quote I've received.

I phoned Tesco today to ask if thye could get near the other quotes.
They couldn't so I told them I will be switching.
Rechecked the compare sites and the better quotes had risen by about £10.
In the end I bought a policy with Hastings Direct through Compare the Market.
£406 Fully comp. 9+ ncb protected £100 excess.

Was I swayed by getting a Meercat?

Yep

I tend to follow the Martin Lewis 'moneysavingexpert' approach when renewing. Start with moneysupermarket.com, then 'comparethemarket', 'gocompare' etc.

It will take 20-30 minutes of your time but lookas at all the providers. Then I phone my company and haggle if I find it cheaper elsewhere.

I've had two cars and household insurance with Tesco until this year. The renewals were up 25%, and competition at least 25% less on like-for-like policies.

Aimed at stinging the auto-renewers, I think.
