Anyone friends with somebody really famous?

My brother spent seven years in the same class at school with Michael O'Leary

Not famous as such, but my late Uncle, was the first writer of Doctor Who, he is credited with giving us the acronym TARDIS and deciding that a police box would be the shape. The rest is history (though not necessarily a happy one).

The same brother was given a room in a flat in Dublin for 2 weeks in the late 70s by Larry Mullen (U2). Coincidentally my brother also provided a property in Belfast for a new film coming out later this year about a guy who turned down the chance to be in U2.

I think we have a winner.:thumb:

I knew Keith Amor before he went big on the roads :o

He was/is a member of the Road Racing club I'm involved with, he just literally came from nowhere and took the piss out of everyone!

:)
ha ha hes one of my fav players at manutd, hes the new ronaldo at manutd.

what do you do to get Nani as a customer?:D

He came to us through an architect we had never dealt with before.

When I say he is naive, I mean he has no idea when it comes to paying things like his telephone bill etc..

He did have a right hand man who looked after this sort of thing but when that guy was no longer there Nani struggled, mainly due to his spoken English not being at all good.

He's a nice guy though, and good to deal with, unlike another Premiership footballer (Blackburn Rovers) who has gone on holiday for a month without settling his bill.

My brother used to know someone out of Steps - one of the women, but don't know which one. My auntie used to know Ruth Madoc who played Gladys Pugh in Hi-De-Hi, and my unlce was friendly with JPR Williams, former rugby player, and now surgeon who likes a drink!!

I once stood behing Vicky Butler-henderson in a queue......and more recently, Jan to be exact, stood behing Gilbert O Sullivan in a queue.

My colleague stood behind Jenson Button in a queue too.

we have not tracked down anyone here who admits to standing behind Suzie Quatro in the queue yet.

Katherine Jenkins coming here next week....have started the queue already....

Do any of them count as knowing someone famous?

oh yeah...once held the door open for Frazer Heinz....it was a chip shop.

 So does your late uncle have a page on wikipedia? TARDIS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes. He's mentioned at the beginning of the second paragraph of your link. Click on his name (Anthony Coburn) and ypou will get to his page. This an abridged version. Click on history and then look at the account by "Stef Stargazer". This is my cousin Stephen, still angry after all these years. My comment to him is in References at the bottom of the article.
