Yes why not.
- Sir Dawda Jawara (ex president of The Gambia - met more times than I can count)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawara)
- Yahya Jammeh (President of The Gambia - met more times than I can count) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahya_Jammeh)
- George W Bush (before he was famous... in 1990 if I remember well... he spent his time in a hotel my mother managed. Had dinner & lunch with him)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush)
- Giovanni Paolo II (Known as Voitilla, no clue how that's spelt. Attended a reception for him and was on the runway with other people waiting for him when his flight landed. Quite a funny story this one actually..) (the ex pope) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Paolo_II)
- An uncle in my mothers side of the family was the author of Sandokan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emilio_Salgari)
- My grandmother ran for Italy at the Olymics ('48-'60 if I remember well. Can ask her... she has a few medals too...)
- A fairly long list of current and past ambassadors, high commissioners et al... (both parents are diplomats)
- GF plays soccer for Lazio & Italy womens team.. so technically the entire Italian womens soccer team I wouldn't say we're friends, but I've sat on the sidelines almost every time I go watch her play and go to dinners and parties with her, so I do know the others on a first name basis...
uhmm.. I'm sure I can come up with more digging into my past...
But does oneself count? As in, can I be friends with myself? I so, then myself
