Has anyone got any actual experience of the benefits or pitfalls of remapping the ECU from the current 180K engine? I've been considering whether its worth it for my 2005 C180k Sport Edition auto.
Someone on this forum has (R2D2). Personally, I do not see the point in buying a C180K in the first place if looking to upgrade/re-map it as only £1500 price difference between the two from brand new but there is always room for discount... Insurance premium is likely to be affected too annually from doing the re-map opposed to buying a OEM C200K.
C180K does feel a bit sluggish and would be well worth upgrading to the 163BHP that the same 1.8L engine produces for the C200K.
I'm afraid £1500 might not be much to you but it is to me. So much so that I could not afford one. In fact the difference was more than that and absolutely not worth paying for whats on offer. Dont really see how a £250 remap can equate to the same as paying £1700 more for a 200k, but thanks for your response.
Sorry - I did not mean for my post to come out the wrong way. Be careful that warranty does not get invalidated but you should be fine as I doubt it well get picked up on should you need any other warranty work doing.
