Anyone used Telepass in Italy through TollTickets.com

A bit more info. Telepass EU is a different device although very similar to the ordinary telepass. However its for commercial vehicles only over 3500kg. Maybe one day there will be a version for the rest of us.

The Telepass from tolltickets.com worked a treat. I must check the invoice to see how much it cost me though!

This has been a useful prompt for research. We plan to do a Scandinavian tour next year, via Germany to look up places we used to live. So, in order to access city areas, it seems I will need to get a blue NOx emissions sticker next year, assuming they are live then in Germany (this trumps the current green one for modern diesels and of course we will have our Euro VI engine). That's progress: back when we lived in Germany in the 80s, any self-respecting tree hugger had a yellow 'Atomkraft Nein Danke' sticker on his/her 2CV. Now the same people are Green politicians who think up ways to tax road transport with more ruddy stickers.

After a lot of digging on the Net, I think I shall got for an EasyGo tag, as it covers Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and although this wil only be 2 or 3 weeks, should be worth it for convenience, as there are a plethora of tolls, congestion and infrastructure charges, LEZs and goodness knows what else by then, and I'll just have to settle the invoice afterwards in a single transaction with one currency exchange involved. The Danish service provider BroBizz seems favourite.

As for France and Spain, I still prefer to employ Mrs W, as it gives her something to do in the copilots's seat, counting out all those horrid little European Cent coins that accumulate in the bottom of one's change purse. Over the years, she has slept and dozed through some of the finest scenery in Europe and the tolls give me the chance to make sure she is awake and not missing out.

Did forget to mention that the Swedish road and congestion tolls use APNR rather than tags, so that does remain a separate charge via EPass24. No single provider to cover everything, alas. :fail
