Apple CarPlay

Hello,

I'm new here hopefully this is the correct section! I am trying to establish how to activate Apple CarPlay in the car details are...

Mercedes C220 Bluetec (2015 model)
iPhone 6 on Vodafone UK

I have connected via lightning USB selected media but it just says no playable media?

Yes it's a nice car very economic has Eco,comfort,sport & sport + for the weekend lol very fast car cruises easily at 110 mph full heated leather seats auto braking reverse camera very smooth

Haha I've only had it a week also!! Birds love to have a go all the time it's a nightmare it's due a wash tomorrow! They are very nice downside is it does not have folding mirrors lol if mirrors is the only problem then it's a winner!!

Have the edges of the 3 pointed star in the steering wheel been softened since the W204?

Also, a manual! A manual Mercedes is pretty rare.

They are pretty soft very comfortable steering has various steering modes also, it's extremely light I went from a Ford Focus so everything is so much better haha! Manual is amazing shifts gears seemlessly, economical wise I done around 350 miles on £30 of diesel and that's hitting 90+ in cruise control

Just rang the merc dealer and surprisingly enough they don't have any clue about Apple CarPlay not a great start [emoji23]

No I meant the badge itself. It's edges seem softened, not sharp edged like in the W204.

That's 58mpg, you'd get far higher at 65, 70mph

(although I can't get past 35mpg even at 58mph behind a lorry. )

Must say their customer service is great! Checked my consumption on a 70mph motorway trip averaged 70.2mpg

Haha! Can imagine, however I took my mates in for its 2nd service he has the 14 model c220 and was treated like royalty! I have the Bluetec model so due to the mileage I need to fill the ad blue up a lot as it shuts down the car if empty bit weird!

Ok so I have been hunting about and Apple just released iOS 8.3 which upgrades CarPlay which also states UK is supported when I switch option to media in car via cable says no playable media yet when I click spotify on phone and hit play it plays through my stereo!!

Jesus that's frightening fuel economy. Slow further to 56-58 (lorry cruise speed) and you'll get higher still. (not saying I'd be patient enough to do that, but for you to see what your absolute max is, worth a go.

I get paid 18p a mile so it's always in Eco on a weekday haha, i will attempt a 400 mile round trip tomorrow to see what is stands at but its really good on fuel!

I think when it says no playable media, it's because the car is seeing the phone for it's storage, as a flash storage device.

When you use spotify, you're outputting sound, so it's playing it.

I think if you're expecting to play music you've got in iTunes, try playing it with iTunes and see if it plays like Spotify does?
