aps30 operating instructions

After upgrading my audio 10 to an aps30, I've at last got it working, after driving around for a few weeks with it displaying the PROD. message on the display, I decided to go to the merc dealer, they sorted it on the spot, and didn't even want to charge me - it was just a coding issue.
Now, though, I cant find how to set the loudness function or the speed dependant volume. I'm assuming that its wired in correctly as my previous audio 10 increased volume with speed so the speed pulse must be present. I probably just dont know how to use the menu's correctly ?

Has anyone got an aps30 manual that they could look up the instructions for setting loudness and speed dependant volume parameters ?

Many Thanks

Kevin

Ive sent you PM

Wobbly

Hi Wobbly, thanks for the info, i'll be ordering a manual now. But what I really want to know is how to make the volume increase with speed, as it does not do that at the moment. I'm wondering if this can only be done with STAR tester. Speed pulse is connected otherwise the navigation wouldn't work.
Also I want to activate the loudness (ldn - on other merc radios) it makes it sound nicer.

Thanks

The APS 30 dosnt have a loudness adjustment (except for the Volume)

Confirmed. I looked for this feature when I installed mine, but there is no GALA speed sensitive volume.

ahh, no loudness and no speed sensitive volume - that explains a lot, I can stop randomly pressing buttons now trying to find them. Its a shame though, as the sound quality on the aps30 is not as good as the aps10 that I replaced. Do you all have the big subwoofer on the back parcel shelf under the grille next to the first aid kit, or was that an option on my car ? - I wonder if the aps30 needs star coded in order to use it ? - any ideas ?

Thanks

No subwoofer fitted in my car, the APS30 is retro fitted in my 1989 SL.

No subwoofer in my car either. What I can say is that I had a Barry in the back at the weekend and he was gutted that my bog-standard system sounded better than his neon-bedecked effort. He particularly commented on the bass!! I have the APS-30, 10 speakers, not Bose, and no sub-woofer.

Audio 30 APS - PROD. displayed

Thought I'd re-open this thread rather than post a new thread.

I've just tried to upgrade from from Audio 10 to Audio 30 APS in my Dad's 2003 ML. As soon as we power it up it displays 'PROD'. It won't even ask for the code and doesn't appear to function.

The unit is an Audio 30 APS (BE4716). I believe that this is the CANBUS version and the ML's are Non-CANBUS.

Does anyone know what coding the dealer may need to do?
Should the unit work at all whilst it displayed PROD.?

Hopefully it's just a coding issue, really hope it's not a dud unit. It powers up, lights up, inserting & ejecting CD's works, although the unit doesn't to anything but display 'PROD.'

Thanks in advance guys...

Update - Got it working !!!

Good news!, We've got it working now :bannana:

Dad took the car to a local MB specialist (who's equipped with Star). Dad isn't sure what they did, but £20 and 45 mins later it's working fine. He's really pleased with the result and likes the Audio 30 unit....
