Attention Assist

It's working all the time have you checked out this YouTube clip

YouTube - Mercedes-Benz PRE-SAFE Brake System Video - Kelley Blue Book

if you rest your foot on the break as you approach traffic, you should feel it add in breaking power as you need it!

(test it slowly first)

I also ordered this on my w212 (Mercedes-Benz Distronic Plus)

YouTube - AutoSpies.com demonstrates Mercedes-Benz Distronic Plus

its awesome have only done 118 miles in mine so far due to snow, but most of them have been done using this.

Might start going looking for traffic jams :D

Nive video Andy - but that's not the 'Attention Assist' that's standard on W212's. It seems you have to pay extra for options that actually work!

I went for the full driver assist package, love it, traded leather for it, do you remember kitt in the 80's, feel like a kid again

I ended up turning the Attention Assist off. I have a feeling it takes into account the time of day too, and it just didn't work for me at all.

My car does an 80 minute trip to work, and 80 minutes back. Many are done between 3am and 5am. I will have had 8 hours sleep, be driving normally, and sure enough 35 minutes into the journey... Beeeep!

Disabled.

Thanks Pottsy, at least we know it does something. Ever thought about setting the clock to 5 pm not 5 am, and checking the difference?

I think you're right though, I'm sure I read something about it being time of day dependant.

There you go then, it is obviously more sensitive at early hours?
So it was going off for you even when driving ok?
Maybe there isnt any special electronics and MB just put this in as an added extra and is activated randomly at unruly hours :D (only joking)

Makes you wonder whether any cultural differences between races would affect how we behave when tired. Maybe it's optimised for a more 'precise' German culture, and doesn't cope well with Brits driving down the M1 swigging coke and texting! (hope that's not racist!) (plus of course no reflection on Pottsy!)

You may be right about the time of day. The only time mine has gone off was when I left home at 0300 to drive to the Tunnel. I'd been in bed since 6pm so was wide awake yet it kept pinging on, which worried the wife and she kept telling me to pull over. As far as she was concerned the machine can't be wrong. Once the sun came up it never went off again, in fact it's never made a murmur since that day.

As an aside, for the last few weeks, as I've been working about 80 miles away from home I've used a company car to save putting miles on my car. Today I used my E350 Coupe and it was an absolute pleasure to do the journey. It really made me appreciate the difference in standards that the car provides. It was a brilliant drive.

Welcome Herk, (not another new E'by in Lincolnshire!!) It's not white is it your Coupe? - I've just been begging for a white one on the new member intro forum!

Welcome Herk, another Lincolnshire E350 owner! :p

It's Palladium Silver. As soon as the model was introduced I went for a test drive and was smitten. Intended to trade in my CLS in early 2010 but after the drive I thought live for today and within a week was the proud owner of a remarkable piece of kit taken from group stock. Although it had a higher spec than I may have gone for if I'd been ticking all the boxes on an order sheet, watching the price increase, I'm really pleased that I have got most of the toys.

Nice indeed, my SLK was Palladium Silver and I could have had a similar colour E220. I went for black for the change (despite them having to drag the black one up from Essex), but that silver is a great colour - esp for not showing the dirt, and it shines real well when polished.

It will certainly be more 'timeless' than the white one I suggest.

Mine is white and I can assure all, it certainly does show up the dirt at present - needs a daily valet...

That said, when it is clean it does look quite nice

I always remember when I done the deal on mine on the last Thursday in November, then we went up the Edinburgh for the weekend and saw a white E350 Coupe parked on the Royal Mile.

:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I then realised the black saloon was a poor second!!

I have owned both white and black cars over the years (as well as many other colours) but always go back to black. It just looks so damned good when clean and polished.

Oo thats 4 of us from Lincs including me. :D
Where abouts are you all from in Lincolnshire?
I live in a dull place called Scunthorpe.

Is there some pocket of wealth in Lincolnshire or just lots of company car drivers? :)

I'm in Sheffield so not too far away. Mine's a private purchase - wish it was a company car :)

Including the optional functioning injectors, or "NotParkedUpDownTheDealerTronic"
