Hello,
got a new Kenwood audio head unit and it ask what set up for the speakers, the choices are:
5 and 4
6 and 6X9
OEM
what should be the setting on the E300 Turbo diesel?

Also there is a tuning for the High pass filter, front and rear, and the low pass filter that can be adjusted. What is that?
Cheers.

If you have standard speakers in the car still, i'd go for the OEM setting.

High and Low pass filters are basically noise filters, usually used on subwoofers and uprated amplified speakers.

If it is standard speakers you are using, then i'd leave it where it is.

Unless you find the sound rich in treble like sound turn the high pass down.

Or if you want a little more bass, turn up the low pass a little.

I have a kenwood HU also, dnx9280, had the dnx7240 before that also. I generally leave the filters as they are and use real filters on the speakers.

Real filter? What's that?

If you have a tweeter, then your just wasting audio power if your feeding it with mid and low range signals, similar for mid range and subs

...and you could potentially blow a tweeter with too much lower frequency.
