Hi, is it possible to set the wing mirrors on a W209 to automatically fold in when the ignition is switched off and then back out again when turned back on? I can do it via the button but would like to have it automated.

Thanks

Have you check under the Convienience menu?

Presuming your car is post 2004, do as Whitenemesis advises....

I switched the feature off on my car as I am not sure how good it is for the cabling.

Depends on the age of the car more specifically the age and revision of the door controllers.

Its odd because some models have it available by default (eg A class). Others dont (eg W203) and they use pretty much the same cables and controllers!

Thanks for the info

Thanks for the info. The car is a 2003 model and doesnt have the convienience option in the computor. I do have new door control units from a 57 plate car as they came with the electric memory seats and door cards that i purchased. From what you have said presumably I can get it coaded so this would work, would i need extra control modules as well?

Thanks

The front SAM would need changing, and may even be the cluster depending on whether the menu is in the software to be enabled by Star

Richard

I have managed to enable this on a few cars now as its just a coding issue most of the time but would need to go on a star machine to have a look and see if its possible to do it.

thanks for all your help, I will take it to my local merc garage and ask them to take a look to see if it can just be activated.

Most main dealers will just say to you this is not possible as it is to do with coding and its changing the coding of what the vehicle left the factory with.

You would be better of using an independant as they will not refuse to do it. well i know i wouldnt refuse to do it as a job
