Autobox Gear Selection not showing on dash..?

Hello all, After reading my manual trying to find out what the w&s button means by my gearstick, I realised the display should show what gear it is in etc... Also what mode it is in w or s... I dont have this display showing, Can it be turned off or other i have searched the manual but not had any luck. Thanks alot in advance. Pillabenz.

It should display it on the cluster in on the centre display. It is lit up orange

Hiya, I know but it doesnt show, I was thinking maybe its been turned off in the settings or something, I will go and double check now. Thanks.

Its definitely not showing, I have just been through all the settings and there is no option, The w & s mode works as i can hear the box changing the mode whilst in park, Definitely no activity on the dash.

Mmm that's odd.

The coding needs to be checked first. It maybe wrong hence the lack of display.

The coding is checked with a Star. You can also get that engine light looked at too!

I have an obd2 reader, from the codes i seen in a thread on here, It is the lambda sensor, It barely passed the mot with it and that was 6 mnth ago.. I do my all my own servicing etc and try to avoid dealers..!! I keep resetting it but its back on instantly. The car runs absoloutely fine though.

Seems i have been in winter mode since i bought the car, Wow its much more responsive in s mode, I got used to the sluggishness, thought it was just meant to be! Shame it doesnt tell me what mode im in on-dash though!
