Autobox missing a gear

Could some-one help me with my problem, I have an E320 with a 5 speed auto box. On kick down going up a hill it some times misses a gear and revs up, I have to ease off the gas and it finds the gear again. We have had the car for 5 yaers and it has done it 3 times some times going for more than a year with no problem. We have done 50000 miles since the first time it did it and it is fine in between. Is it a problem or some thing I have to put up with?

Check the fluid level as it sounds like low fluid.

give it a filter and oil chane (the box not the engine) - simple, and cheap(ish)
