I've got a baffling one. Both the rear windows have stopped working for at least 1+ years now. I have checked the fuses (in boot) and the last time a mech was asked to look they said both motors are goners. All why-havent-you-fixed-it aside, the reason why its baffling to me is - I just got back the car after it was in workshop for an AC diagnosis. The AC has been fixed. When I was driving back from the mech, I popped up the sunroof then as I picked up speed I noticed a windy sound from the rear and looked- the window behind the driver was ajar by 3 cm. This surprised me since I knew it wasnt working so how can it be down. In a moment of hope I wishfully pressed the window button to wind it up expecting nothing to happen, but I actually heard and observed it nudge up and for a moment and for the life of me I also think I saw it almost at the same time nudge back down! Then nothing. After that moment, it didnt budge nor make any more audible noises when I pressed the switches. No matter whether I switched the child proofing switches ON or OFF.
Now is this possible? Has anyone experienced the same? Is there hope the motors are fine if so what can it be that has disabled them? Interstingly when it stopped working, both stopped working at the same time which really baffled me, but I'm sure the fuses are ok and switched fuses too to make sure.
So to temporarily close I thought perhaps I can manually force it up by pushing up on it when I got back. I did and it actually went up but not entirely flush into the rubber so having the car washed woudl be an issue. If it can be moved like this, does it mean something has broken in the window mechanisms? Anyone know more about the whole system?
