Can anyone clarify a point before I potentially make a fool of myself with the $tealer.

When I reverse up a hill/incline I have had to "kickdown" to get the car moving. Is this normal procedure?

They have been rather steep but to force pedal all the way down?

Your help will be gladly appreciated.

Is the car in W mode? Remembering that the new electronic 5 speed boxes have 2 ratios for reverse. Sometimes when in W you really need to boot it depending on the incline. Best to check.

I have an S or C setting no W - Sport/comfort. I am in Comfort mode most of the time. It seems that it is one of those things - on flat it is ok

If youre in comfort that sounds normal that you have to press hard to go backwards. Try using S and you will notice a huge diference. I don't like C or W in the case of my car.

Yep that sounds like the most likely cause, having the car in C will use the second reverse gear so will need more power to reverse on a hill.
