I have just managed to fit illuminated sills into our B. They look very slick- the illumination is even a close match for the paint colour, according to Mrs Smatt.

Many thanks to Richard & Whitenemesis, without whose assisance on the forum, it would have been fairly impossible for me! ( refer to thread http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=54241 )

The WIS worksheet was indispensable as a guide, although not necessarily crystal clear, as was the accessory loom -which local dealers said was not necessary!:crazy:

However, I have a few points to help anyone else interested in fitting them in a B class;

The WIS guide is for a LHD car, hence:
-battery & fusebox is in the right footwell, as in the guide, but SAM/N10 is in left/passenger footwell; not on right as it says in the guide
-The power connector lead has to go to the accessory loom connector(once installed) adjacent to the fusebox, but the connectors for door open/close input have to go to the SAM in Left footwell. As these two sets of connectors are from just one side of the sill loom, they have to be stretched apart somewhat and the only way I could find to get them to fit was to reverse the sill loom(ie use the Left labelled side of loom on the right & vice versa), unless of course the door input cables are extended, but I felt this would not be so neat. This makes the leads on the left footwell a bit short, but just about long enough.

Additionally, the main vehicle loom to the fusebox has to be mobilised by undoing the nearest zip tie, in order to turn the fusebox around and get to the underside in order to dismantle it.

Finally, a minor point: the only reason that the drivers seat needs to be removed is in order to take out the carpet. It can be left in situ, but does need to be loosened off to pull the carpet out.
