Cheers, do you have the link for mercedes enthusiast magazine?

I am due to have my service done at PCS this Friday a B service for my ML, expecting good things after all the good press on here.

Yea Olly is good at PCS, I have heard this from the forum as well. He has also given me a few prices and the prices are competitive.

Are you just having a basic B-service or additional items as well?

Additional items as well will need to be done, I am quite hard on vehicles;)

Had the service done at PCS today, really impressed at the time and effort Olly took to explain everything to a thicky like me. He gave me and the wife a lift to the station and picked us up and even better the price for the service was really good. I thought I needed new brakes, but he told me it would be a waste of money so soon, I am not so sure the dealers would of done that.

I am impressed with the standard of professionalism, that he will now get all my work on vehicles.:thumb:

So what did you have done?

B-service I understand and any other additional items? Pm the price please, was it by chance £265? + additional items if you had any?

B service, underbody tray secured, leak from washer bottle sourced, gearbox plug leaking so replaced £311 before VAT.

Just incase anyone else is interested. I've just been quoted £250 inc VAT (Supply own oil) for B service on C32 from JCT600 Sheffield

Ok Cheers

Definitely shop around - even between MB dealers. Give the mileage to your dealer and ask that they tell you which additional items will be required, and ask for a breakdown for the service itself, and then each additional item separately.

Additional items are the mileage related stuff like spark plugs (not on a diesel though ;)), brake fluid change, transmission fluid change, etc.

I did it for my C32 in the Summer of 2009 and found this variety - all are MB main dealers:

Most expensive (an MBUK owned MB main dealer): £980
B-Service: £495
Fuel & air filters: £310
Brake fluid: £175

My usual (franchised MB main dealer): £459
B-Service: £280
Fuel & air filters: £127
Brake fluid: £52

Other (franchised MB main dealer from a different group): £445
B-Service: £275
Fuel & air filters: £125
Brake fluid: £45

I ended up using my usual franchised MB main dealer. Actual final price was £379 for B-Service, all filters including fuel filters, brake fluid change, ATF level check, STAR scan, valet (a good job too), and a thorough shakedown.

I didn't even bother shopping around this time.

I'm sat in my usual franchised MB main dealer now having drank their coffee & Diet Coke, hammered their wifi, and I just handed over £91.20 for an A-Service on my C32 AMG with no additional items (none required).

That includes all service items like oil filter & screen wash, and the all important MB stamp in the book & invoice, but excludes oil.

I supplied my own oil: 2x 4 litres @ £5 + VAT each. They gave it a really good grilling too and gave it a clean bill of health.

So total cost including oil was £102.95 including the infamous "Sorry Sir, it's an AMG so the price I quoted for a 3.2 C-Class isn't correct, it's now twice as expensive" mark up which MB Retail use!!

:D

That's a great price, I know you supplied your own oil but that still sounds pretty good for an A Service...

"I supplied my own oil: 2x 4 litres @ £5 + VAT each"

Nope. When Costco changed from stocking 4l cans and switched to 5l cans they cleared all they're stock at £5 per can!! I took as much as I could fit in amongst all the other stuff we bought.

It gets better, I was given a can of Diet Coke to drink on my onward journey, and was greeted by a spangly clean car, and a tin of sweets on the seat.
