Bah! Lost the back light... w202

Right... first fault has come up! We seem to have an issue with the light cluster at the rear driver's side. When I got the car, the main tail light worked, the small one in the corner didn't... i took it out to get the bulb and low and behold! it came on!

This put out the warning light on the dash.

A few days later, light is back, this time i hadn't turned the light on, just tapped the brake and yes, brake light out same side.

While taking it out to fit a replacement, i noticed the little tail light was now broken! Fitted both and while the stop light works, i now have no tail light at all on that side!

I even swapped the bulbs i know to be working from the other side and nothing... any ideas? The indicator, new brake light etc all work fine. Don't fancy a pull from the plod...

The circuit on the bulb holder may have been broken somehow, have you checked th cable to the plug which feeds the holders aswell?

I've tried cleaning it up, replaced a fuse which looked ok, one of two now back on!

At least i look legal!
