Hello,

The BAS ESP warning light has appeared on my '53 ML270 CDi. I've had it checked with the computer at the garage, but it is coming up with no faults or codes found? Any ideas where to start.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Iain....

Has the battery been disconnected?
If so you could try and reset the light as I do on my C-Class. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel lock to lock 3 times. It might go out. Good luck anyway!

Hi,
What was the tester used? was it STAR? as i don,t believe the more common generic diagnostic testers can analyse all the available codes.

Thanks Guys,

It was the Bosch tester. I'll speak to the garage to see if they can get hold of the Star tester. I presumme it is the pucka Merc tester

Cheers,
Iain...

Could be a faulty brake light switch but get it on star to be sure.

My BAS / ABS light on my ML350 was tracked down to a faulty cable on a rear wheel speed sensor.

Lucky as my model doesn't have the Brake light switch under the pedals its built into the servo? and cost a bit more.

At the end of the day mine was £40 to fix at an indy, they found the fault, tracked it down and replaced the cable.

All good :)
