Looking for recommendations for body shop in North Kent area to repair/paint my damaged rear bumper. Any good experiences at all?:thumb:

Thanks in advance.

Passenger side scrape that has gone through paint to plactic base about 6" x 4"

For something like that perhaps one of the dent repair/chips away type companies might be cheaper. Ask at your local MB dealer who they use to "fettle" their forecourt cars for a recommendation. Post a piccy if you like.

To be honest, the worst of that would polish out. The white marks look like paint on top of the silver surface, and the yellowy-white scrapes are down to the plastic.

For a ten year old W203, I think an acceptable repair could possibly be made by polishing out the paint residue, meticulously touching in the slight scrapes on the yellowy-white areas and flat/polishing afterwards - it's only plastic after all :)

A specialist like Grober mentions would do good job if you're not confident to DIY it.

That is a DIY job for a 10 yr old car. Like Will says. Get some cutting compound like Farecla g3 and go over the area then see what is left to touch in with a brush in paint. Get some very fine wet and dry paper to blend it in - 1500 or 2000 grit - then the G3 then polish it.

Thanks again all - comments appreciated. About to chat to local MB Dealer and see who they use.

Over time, i've had 2 similar scrapes on my SL but only the bumper insert got scraped, one on each side.

On the right side, I replaced the bumper insert which came ready sprayed (which was actualy quite difficult to get the old one out)
On the left side, I had a bumper repair specialist respray it as he was at home touching up scrapes etc on another car.

I can not tell the difference at all ! [Edit, the repair specialist was cheaper too]
