Car
mercedes e class
my e class went in for a battery drain problem, 2 days and £200 later :(
it was found to be phone e-net compensator which makes the in car phone work, was told for a new one it would be £430 which I cannot afford so i told them to disconect it untill i can afford one,

got my car back today and guess what my phone still works what they did not know i have a viseeo bluetooth installed in the cradle :D and it looks like it dos not need the compensator to make it work.

I now hope that is the end of my battery drain problems

Not sure if the car stands for a period and is not used but I bought an accumate that keeps it topped up and conditioned.

My 211 battery goes flat when I leave it for 6 weeks or more, despite a new battery a while ago. I'm thinking of trying a solar powered trickle charger for when I go away in the summer next year...

I wouldn't waste your money on one. The amount they put into the battery will not be enough to keep it topped up for the amount the E uses when idle.

You're better off disconnecting the battery completely if you're leaving it for long periods.

no enough sunlight in the winter to charge, i remember when we bought canon solar charged camera it was reduced from £400 to £99 and the reason was obvious 1 week in south facing window ceil and it was not enough to charge it, this system is more for sunny hot climate

At least you are ok now. I've got an issue with mine too, when I went to buy the car the battery was dead. After a run it was ok,been ok the last few weeks I had it. It's been in the garage since monday and the battery was dead when we went to move it today. Its not really a problem at the moment as I never leave it that long,I'll get onto it eventually. I suspect it's the alarm.
