(Battery light visit workshop)
I have replaced both batteries and it has new alternator.
Any ideas what to do next the light is on most of the time but the battery is charging.
In the last few days the light has gone out 3 times but keeps coming back on and staying on .
Any help would be apprecicated .

There is a problem with a wire breaking under the small battery in the front of the car.

I had a good look at the wires today could not see any damaged wires is there one in particular i should be looking at ?

The battery and mounting bracket and washer bottle has to be removed before you can gain access to the wiring.

Then you have to trace back the wiring to see if it has a break in it.

Is there a particular coloured wire I should be looking for with this fault.?
I put the ignition on and the light comes on and that's before I start it up.
Once started the light stays on all the time but does not have any effect to the car .

My opinion.... Obv not the batteries or alt. So ur car thinks it is. Someplace between ur bat and ecu, its losing the signal. Put that in ur head and keep looking. Look where Andy said and remember that wires often break inside around where wires bend or move. If a section is suspect you may pull on it. Very often the plastic coating is ok but copper is broken inside. Also pull at everything you can see and look for corrosion. Spot any then clean it all up. Good Luck Matey !

Hi I fix a lot of these it s more then likely the battery control module in booth where spare wheel is
Or if you remove battery in booth just behind it is the loom which gets rubbed very badly as it s wedged between the battery and bulk head behind it
Check and pull on the loom for corrosion or breaks in wire s

I bet you will find it there if you disconnect battery have radio code if needed

Battery warning light - vist workshop

Encountered this problem previously and identified by Merc - paid about £120 for the pleasure because the inde which I used hadn't a f.....g clue. The solution - replacing the sbc/auxillary battery under the bonnet (passenger side).

Same problem this time so replaced the 5 yr old MB Fiamm battery with an Exide YT14B -BS. Problem solved. ;) Battery from justcarbatteries (JCB) at a very, very competitive price of about £38 - even ECP would be hard done to match this price.

Changing the battery is not difficult but my inde quoted £30 for the 15/20 min job. The YouTube video on the subject was very useful.
