Not too shabby for a 60 year old lady, this was cleaned yesterday, then driven 30 miles (garden centre).

Bonnet shot from today.

Different wax on either side, not sure of the sheeting until I use the car in the morning.

I would also recommend Wetcoat as well.

Clean car as normal, spray on Wetcoat and hit with the pressure washer. The water activates it and even with nothing on the car you suddenly get beading!

Perfect to top up wax coatings every few washes.

It's a good winter hack for me, contemplating on trying a paintwork sealant sometime, just hope it's not too complex to apply one.

Doesn't work with the water in my area as it leaves water marks all over the car

I haven't invested in a water softener yet.

It works with any water, but you still have to rinse and dry the car. Water softener is a good idea though...

Bit of crazy beading from two coats of Collinite 845 after a wash yesterday evening and a downpour overnight.

Can i use Collinite 845 after autoglym resin polish?
Iam using autoglym resin polish and thinking to get autoglyn HD Wax but i've heard positive reviews about Collinite 845

It's a combination I highly recommend!!

Collinite sits very well on SRP mate. It's a very no frills product but lasts well and as long as you don't let it bake on (don't over apply either) it's easy to work with. Couple of layers (min. 24 hours apart to cure) will last very well.

Alex Thanks for your reply iam wondering when you say 24H apart to cure you mean after 24H applying Autoglym i can apply Collinite 845?

Sorry, no just 24 hours before applying a second coat of Collinite.

Should be able to polish then follow straight up with a layer of wax.

Just need to give it 24 hours for the Collinite to cure before applying a second layer. I normally apply a coat and then apply a second next time I wash the car.

Basically the solvents in the wax may end up removing the previous layer if you put another coat on too soon. Hope that helps :)

Looking good

Beading is all well and good, but sooner or later those beads are going to dry, leaving bits of atmospheric dust and pollution stuck to your paint surface.

Surely it's better to have a paint finish that encourages the water to sit on the surface WITHOUT beads? That way the dust and pollutants are thinly distributed over the surface so when the water evaporates the surface looks clean after every rain shower...

I'm sure I'm revealing massive ignorance of the science of making your car look pretty, but beading doesn't seem desirable to me..

I'll admit the pictures look good though!

Beading on alloys...

very nice ....But you need to up the size of shingle on your drive from 6mm to at least 10mm so you dont keep picking it up in the treads of your tyres!:D

Tony.

There's certainly an argument for preferring sheeting of water rather than beading so water doesn't dry in spots.

My CLS sits in the rain and beads, doesn't seem to cause any adverse effects and cleans up easily. My E sheds it's water the moment I drive it so again doesn't do any harm really.

Here's my effort, car washed and 1 coat of Bilthamber Autobalm.
I have still to try the Bilthamber Double Speed Wax yet.

Now that made me giggle Tony!
