I want to add Sat Nav to my SL500 R129 but would like to avoid running wiring from the front to back. There are lots of adverts for single DIN Becker Traffic Pro and Becker Indianapolis units and the connections look similar to the Audio 30 (i do not have the Bose system). Could anyone confirm that it is fairly straightforward job or have any alternative suggestions. I did look at the Pioneer X1 (difficiult wiring ) and the Alpine (did not match dash).
Thanks

They are fantastic units but no longer made... If you can get one then you are very lucky... If you do get one let me know from where!

It shouldbe a straight fit.. the only things you will need to mess with is fitting the Mic and the GPS antenna.

You could look at a Becker Cascade. Very similar but has variable colour display. The navigation software is on a card rather than cd. Diversity tuner so radio reception always good. These are still available new but cost a fortune in the uk. Try a german dealer or ebay.de. We got ours from Kolumbus24 on ebay.de. In my opinion a major plus is that these units look totally anonymous and very few people in the uk know what they are so do not appeal to thieves. The sound quality with good speakers is simply stunning.

Yes they look great but to be honest, id EUR 8-900 (new with ipod kit) id probably find alternatives!

At that price I agree. Ours was just under 500 euros a couple of years ago. Well worth it. Suspect lack of supply has forced the price up
