Try a decent microfibre drying towel and you will never go back to a chamois. (PS the Meguiars drying towel from Halfrauds is cr@p and should be avoided)

If you wanted to go OCD and didn't want to touch the paint you could as also said above use a garden blower.

Have you ever tried it, it works very well an just blows the water off.

I've just bought a 30ppm water ioniser/filter type thing hopefully try it out later on.. leaf blower won't start up and haven't taken it to be looked at yet so can't experiment with that.

I bought an ioniser type thing and have been using it for a few weeks. It helps a lot but not sufficiently to leave out the drying phase and get nil water marks.

Lol that's just a black baron. Had one and was rubbish. Just to let you know that an American 'dog grooming' company actually build that machine. They all started out as dog blowers before people realised you could dry cars with them. The one I have has vearable speed and temperature control, and the build quality is insane. But I'm looking forward to hearing the pro's over this to the machine I use?

i've used all sorts over the years, some good leathers and some not so good BUT for the last couple of years I have actually been using the blue all purpose cloth that Asda sell. You might laugh but they cost next to nothing and absorb all the water from the car with ease. The best thing about them is you can use as many as you like drying the car and then throw them away with little expense involved. Even with leathers I found that they are difficult to keep clean and free from small particles of dirt. If you do decide to opt for the cheapo cloth make sure you wash it under the tap first.
