Bluetooth in W212

Does this mean there is no power socket in the place the cigarette lighter exists on smoker cars? I have not even noticed this, I hardly ever use the power plug on any car. I had a look at the manual (cannot check from the car now) and it was not clear about this, more like there would not be any power socket at the centre console (front) storage space. It is just difficult to use the glove box socket if the driver is alone in the car.

Yes there is a socket in the centre console, but it means that the cover has to be open for the charger to be plugged in, and there might not be enough room for the phone. Glove box is the way to go!

N900 does NOT support SAP. There are people complaining but Nokia still havent added it.

The more I read about the N900 the more I am leaning away from it to be honest.

Not sure what I will end up getting now. Will stick with my N97 for the time being I guess - it's not perfect (I still prefer my old N95 8GB to be honest) but it's more than good enough for me.

I have both an N97 and an N900, I can confirm the N97 works perfectly.

Whilst the N900 will make or answer a call and I can hear the other person, they cannot hear me, incredibly frustrating and as a result the N900 now lives in its box until the Maemo community do something about it!

Thanks for that.

I am not an iPhone fan (never had been) but if they actually make it as good as current Nokia phones (which I believe they might with the new one due out in June/July) then I might be tempted by one of those.

In the meantime however I don't know whether to keep my N97 or not. My wife has an N97 as well and is very tempted by the N900 (although the more I read the more I am put off).

The UI is better on the N900 and it does some things really well (browsing for example) - also the keypad and build quality are better with the N900 but so far as an everyday phone goes, forget it.

The battery lasts less than a day with moderate use, there is still lack of support for corporate email and the bluetooth issue was the final straw for me.

The N97 had a new firmware upgrade last week and is actually really good, if a little clunky in places.

Have you tried the N900 with some other BT devices? Does this issue occur also with a BT headset (a different BT profile)? Does it work with other BT car kits? Sounds amazing if there was a BT bug that kils the BT HF profile completely (I mean if the audio path does not work in one direction, it means the feature does not work at all). I have difficulties believing this could be the case with all BT HF kits but then again it should pretty much work with the MB kit too if it works with another kit.

Anyone else with experience on this issue at an MB or with some other HF kits?

It is widely acknowledged that the BT support for the N900 sucks. I have tried it with other car marques and none work correctly. It does work with some headsets but I really want my phone to work direct with the car, hence my reasoning for dusting off the N97...

I see, sounds like the new platform does not make good use of the old BT implementation.
