I like a W210 and W124 but not a mix of the two, ones I've seen for sale just look wrong.

I don't know why you'd want to do one of those conversions, the ones I have seen have never looked convincing. I've seen W140 to W220, W124 to W210 and R129 to R230 conversions.

They seem to be quite popular in Europe

I don't know why you'd want to do one of those conversions, the ones I have seen have never looked at all convincing. I've seen W140 to W220, W124 to W210 and R129 to R230 conversions.

Seen all of those variants as well as a W202 to W203 front.

As you've said they're never convincing and they are also relatively expensive to carry out.

Hi,
I think a conversion kit from a 210 to 124 might sell more, especially as most of the 210's have had or will need there front wings replacing at some point, besides the 124 is a much better looking car, IMO of cause.
