Just had my 51' plate W210 picked up today and taken to Boston Mercedes, Lincolnshire, for de rusting. I have had the car for about a year now. I noticed small blobs of rust appearing last November on all 4 wheel arches. I contacted Grimsby Mercedes, who then contacted Boston Mercedes (the body repair specialists). A chap called Simon made arrangements for a visit, and upon inspection confirmed the worst....yes it was rusting and needed to go in. Simon also pointed out that the bonnet and the boot also needed attention. So far I am very impressed with how things are going and can not speak highly enough of the people at Boston Mercedes. I will give an update as soon as my pride and joy is returned to me and I hand back the keys to the (ugly) Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible loan car they have delivered to me.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum, please let us know the finished results.

Yep, big welcome. Looking forward to seeing finished job.

Hi there, thanks for the welcome. Just had confirmation from Mercedes Boston that my car is going to have 2 new front wings, the rear wings sorted locally and all wheel arches, boot and bonnet repainted for free!!! How fantastic is that

That is very fantastic :D

Hope that they do a good job to your satisfaction on the first attempt.

Know the feeling mate.

Yep, in the nine months we have had it, it has spent nearly a 3rd of the time at the body workshop!

We are thinking of selling it when it comes back as it will be rust free but not sure for how long? Maybe a 2004+ E320CDI estate would be a better investment now.

Rust on my car has reappeared, so 4th time!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so like the SLK but my confidence in MB body work is very dented.
Will an SLK last 4 years without rusting?

Yep, just dont get it wet :D .

Seriousley though, I reckon you'd be ok. Mines knocking on the door of three years and all's fine and dandy so far in fact, I would say the paint and metalwork is probably one of the best features of mine.

Portzy.

WOW!!! I got my baby back yesterday. Boston Mercedes have done a fantastic job, and i can't thank them enough. All of the staff, including the guy who delivered my fully valeted car back to me, were fantastic, kind and courteous. I have taken some pictures today, but need to know how to post them. I only have pictures post surgery and not before. Thanks, Pete B

Thanks, I hope I am one of the lucky ones as I really do like driving this one. I usually get bored by now, but I am smitten with this one. My friends at work call me a gangster or drug dealer because of the blacked out windows and big wheels!!!

liking the wheels .. who makes them?

Nice - Looks very lean and mean for an e class - Wheels also work for me.

Might have to see about refreshing my wheels now!
