Brabus D4 tuning box

Just for info,

I fitted a Brabus D4 tuning box to my clk270 yesterday and after a couple of thrashes i'm a bit disapointed. You see i had been using a Dragon performance box(currently in the forsale section) which in my opinion is much better and excellent value for money. The only reason i changed to the Brabus was to keep it mercedes approved. If i had known it wasn't as good i wouldn't of bothered.

What box's are the rest of you diesel boys and girls running?are you happy with them?

I run a petrol engine..and opted for the Kleemann K2 kit..brabus figures weren't that great and talk about money required, very expensive..Kleemann has a proven track record with petrol and diesel and the figures were impressive..I have a C180K..it now feels like a C320..the pickup is awesome and the to see how the revs go up..is very impressive..and a lot cheaper..

I feel a lot in the forum here and the US site will support Kleemann Brand and quality..The diesel KD box has impresive figures..check out the site..the UK branch is based at Mayfield..do a search in this forum and read the feedbacks..

+1 diesels suit remaps much better than petrol's, and the K box is supposed to be pretty good.

The KD box and Brabus both quote the same figures 204ps 450 torque.
Infact the same as the DragonPerformance box i had fitted before

You may find that Brabus have softened the power delivery.

The early boxes were fairly savage according to my MB Sales Manager friend. Great fun though.

The later boxes were fun, and possibly as fast, but gentler in delivery - again according to my MB Sales Manager friend. Still rates 'em.

Tning Boxes

I've recently fitted a DTP box to my 2008 C320 CDI sport. It cost £350 including fitting. The box does eliminate low rev flat spots and the car drives a bit smoother than before. With the sport button engaged the power delivery is immediate and awesome. The box is not adjustable though. Overall I rate it a worthwhile upgrade. The reason I chose this particular box is that it is approved by many official MB dealers in the Netherlands.

Is anything worth fitting or even can you fit any of these type of things to my ML350?

I had a tuning box on my old TD4 Freelander and that was great, on the petrol car though not sure anything does much?

Where do you get these boxes from and are they detrimental to the engine/turbo?
