Hi all,

Just recently bought breakdown cover with my insurer Admiral. Got the documents in, and noticed that Im only allowed to make 4 claims in the year, only 2 from Home.

I dont really like this restriction so thinking of cancelling it within the 14 days, can anyone recommend a breakdown company I should go for?

Thanks,

green flag have always come up good for us...

i have been getting more and more annoyed with the AA recently... they wouldnt tow me home after a puncture even though i have the most expensive cover and another time it took them 8 hours to get me from northampton to nuneaton...

I'm with Britannia Rescue. I was with the RAC for a few years but they got a little expensive. I get much more comprehensive cover, including business cover for me and Mrs E300D, plus European cover for slightly less than I was paying the RAC for something much more basic.

For the 2 cars, home cover, recovery, business use and European cover I pay £11 a month all in. But I am a member of CSMA so that might give a slightly better rate. You can take out cover online:

Britannia Rescue web site

There is, of course, free breakdown cover with MobiloLife if you get serviced at an MB dealer. And it covers all drivers. And it includes European cover.

Problem with minor mishaps after 3 years, like punctures (see other threads on Mobilo) but otherwise excellent. Interesting to see jaymanek saying AA wouldn't tow him home with puncture. Anyone know what their cover on punctures is? And cover from other breakdown services on punctures specifically? Would be useful to know as so many want proper cover for punctures.

Never had a problem with AA. Arrived within 1hr and towed me to garage of my choice.

Yes but was that a puncture. And would they tow you home if the local garage had no tyre in stock to suit your car? It was the tow home with tyre failure that was jaymanek's problem, I think.

First Call GB are one of the cheapest who take care of everything for you.
Beware of others offering really cheap deals, as you have to pay for any breakdowns, then claim the money back. Not my choice.
