Hi All,

I'm hoping you will share your views/opinions on the c205/w205 Burmester system.

Whilst the quality is amazing I am a little surprised at the lack of bass and overall volume. I'm having to up the bass to +6 to get it anywhere near comparable to my 2011 1 series HK system.

Is it generally accepted that the volume and heavy bass is reduced with the Burmester and outweighed by the awesome quality?

TA!

I believe the price was about £650 when it was available as a standalone option. Now it's intertwined with the Premium Plus package.

For £650, the sound and power is reasonable with decent clarity and resolution.
However if comparing with aftermarket upgrades, which probably cost a lot more, it does lack a bit of sub woofer bass, and sound off volume levels. But for everyday use, it is pleasant and musical enough.

If I had to nit pick this £650 system it would be the fact it doesn't have a volume level, and the speakers are on the small side, particularly the mid range speakers in the door, which are only a few inches. I'd expect 5 inch or so, but the design of the door I guess won't accommodate any larger. The resultant effect is the midrange can sound a bit thin.

But yes, the volume doesn't crank up that loud to vibrate the steering wheel and lacks sub bass that moves your hair. If only :)

But all things considered, it's decent enough, all I'm missing is a volume level feedback, as I have no idea what the volume is. Just have to go by the sound of individual tracks, and music sources.

Great summary, thanks. Kind of puts my mind at ease, in that I am not the only one :)
