Sounds like it sold quicker than he thought and has seen one advertised for substantially more. Good luck to him selling it at that price, that's fairly serious money and I'd be expecting it to need no money spending on a car at that price.

Start looking for a CLK55 or CLK500 with the 5.5 litre 388PS engine. That said, didn't you once have a CLK500 or was it an E500 convertible?

Lol I've had the E500 plus SL55, CLS55 and. SL320 - any V8 is fine, I have two 7 year olds now so need 4 seats.

Just a observation, had the op collected the car as soon as he spotted it and not asked the seller for a Mb health check as mentioned by op this outcome would not have materialised.

I don't go 250 miles to buy 100k miles cars with wallet melting potential without some assurance plus I knew it needed rust, brakes and a spring at least.

I am not interested at £22k at £15 + £4 work needed that was pushing it to be honest
