There seems to be some confusion on this forum and with Mercedes themselves as to whether you can buy Mercedes special tools from Mercedes parts stores. I rang three local dealers (Beaconfield, Readng and Slough) and all said no sorry sir, you cannot buy tools form us. They all pointed me to a
Mercedes website
http://service-parts.mercedes-benz.com/dcagportal/DCAGPortal/menu.action?topic=Workshop
which is impossible to register on (which you need to do to make a purchase) unless you buy WIS info...

Anyhow after a irate conversation with Beaxonsfield parts, they admitted it was a policy from 10 years ago and are allowed to sell special tools to the public.

If you do have patience, you can try and see if you can make the official tools website work. Here are the instructions:

click onto the http://service-parts.mercedes-benz.com/dcagportal/DCAGPortal/menu.action?topic=Workshop:

(

Click on Techinfoshop (English) and another screen will open:

(

Click on products and special tools from the drop down box and the
following should be shown:

You can then search for your tool if you do not know what you need using
this link 'Special Tools Database'. If you know the part number select
'Direct Order' from the left hand side of the page.

From here you will be able to see if the tool is available to order and if so once you are registered and logged in you will be able to add it to your basket and purchase it.

Kind Regards
