Car
2018 GLC 220d AMG line Premium + 1989 500SL Now sold, replaced with 2007 Aston Martin DB9
As sad day today as the six year love affair ended.

The SL has gone to a new home, a member on this forum, he has travelled a long way for it, and I hope he gets as much pleasure from it as I have over the last few years.

That was by far the best 107 I've seen so at least glad is gone to a good home

That's sad - didn't even know you were selling it!

Are you replacing it with something else?

From the pictures, that car looked lovely... I couldnt ever sell mine..

So who bought it?

Thanks everyone, it was a difficult decision to sell the car, as I have had alot of enjoyment from it, but I need the garage space, so time to move on.

Yes the SL is being replaced with something more modern, still with a large engine, still convertible, but not a Mercedes.

I'm sure the new owner will make themselves known, but its up to them.

damn fine looking car and I dont even like old cars !!! That was built back when MB knew how to build a car to a spec not a price. Unlike nowadays

Hi All,

I am the new new owner of Wobbly's ex.

Sorry I haven't been looking on the forum, I've been too busy fixing the car!

Only kidding, the car is as good in the flesh as Wobbly's pics. Couldn't be happier. Sailed through the MOT today as well.

What was the chances of going 300 miles to look at a car only to find that the owner grew up 1 mile down the road - albeit a few years before me!

Looking forward to doing a couple of jobs on the car in the months / years ahead which was half the reason for buying one (enjoyment / tinkering factor). There's nothing major needs doing though (crosses fingers at this point!)

The car will remain standard though, but as it'll be standing outside (at least until I move house... bigger garage required), and used year round so I'm going to be getting rid of the odd bit of surface rust before treating it to some underseal - it's in great nick so would hate to see it suffer from my ownership.

All the best Wobbly, and hello to everyone else.

Carl, I hope you have as much enjoyment out of the SL as I did. :)

I still have a empty space in the garage that needs to be filled.....
