I have a split in the upper boot of the anti roll bar on my C class. Is it possible to buy the boot on its own without replacing the whole link or its end?

Mercedes qotes huge money for the job. Pity not to replace the boot on its own. The car has done 35k miles

Any help would be much appreciated

Almost all types of boots and gaiters can be bought from motor factors, they are generic products and all you need to know is the dimensions.

Said that... replacing a split boot isn't generally recommended, because in most cases the CV or ball joint will have been exposed to dirt, and if already damaged then cleaning and re-packing with grease will not restore it to its original condition. The exception is when the boot appears dry and perished but it is still physically intact.

You don't state the age or model of your car but most anti rollbar droplinks aren't expensive. Replacement is well within the scope of the DIY man or trusted local garage. Only proviso is usually to tighten up with the car resting on its suspension- and sometimes even that is not necessary

Thanks people, I think the whole link will be replaced

My car is 2006 C 200 class saloon with 34000 0n the clock. I think I will replace the link and not bother
trying to replace the boot. Seems a false economy.

Thanks everybody for your answers
