I noticed last week that the passanger side footwell i put it down to the fact its a mercedes of that age and the floor is rusting away!

But tonight my heater seams to steam up the windscreen and not clear it!

I noticed water trickleing down the transmision tunnel carpet from under the heater, it is fresh tasting water (i dared myself to taste it) so i dont think its the heater matrix.

I think it may be and please can i have some advice on this that with all the rain we have had that somewhere i the bulkhead is flooded (because of blocked draiage) and is pouring in the inlet for the heater?

Does that sound plausabe

Used to be very common on the old landrovers for the air con drain pipes to block up these then overflowed into the cabin.

Come out either side of the gearbox trans tunnel on the landies must be similiar set up on most cars.

Havent a clue what c class so just guessed w203 see item 430.

I had similar in my Jaguar which was down to blocked A/C drainage pipes. For want of a better phrase there's a "drip tray" which catches the condensation from the system which lives under the centre console. It then drains via a couple of rubber tubes which usually pop out in either the engine bay or the front wheel wells. Clearing them with a piece of wire usually resolves the issue.
Hopefully it's nothing more serious than this....obviously if you don't have A/C this is meaningless !!

c class

hi mate
if you have a rummage under the hinges for the bonet on eather side you will find a rubber grommet if you take it off and clean it out it will resolve the problem .its water drainage from windscreen i have had a presure washer down there .
thanks billy

Thanks i will have a look at that this evening if i ever finish work!

What do you think the best way to dry the car out is?

Dehumidifier will be the only way to do it properly.

If you have a look at the grommets can you take a pic so i can check wifes car?

All sorted!

Under the bonnet, the plastic box under the pasanger side windscreen, if you look at the corner pointing towards the wheel you will see a round piece of pleastic thats the drainage route mine was blocked and ended up with 2 gallons of water on my shoes!

Thanks All
