C180 Coupe
HI all

After saving up we now own a 2002 C180 Coupe.

When we bought the car it had the ESP and BAS error message. The garage sent the the ABS pump away for refurbishment and remapping to a place in birmingham. We collected the car (a 2 hour round trip) and just as we got home the lights came on again ESP and BAS. I took it around my local garage who read the fault codes as pressure switch. The error on the dash went after we turned it off and my local garage reset the code and said bring it straight back if it comes on again. I spoke to the garage we bought it from and they said after the pump came back they drove it and it was fine however it came on once when they turned a tight left. They reset the code and it was fine again. They are saying that it cant be the actual pump as its been sent away for refrub and must be some sort of electrical gremlin showing a false error. They have said keep an eye on it and if it keeps repeating bring it back.

Anyone got any advice or experience on this ?

Also It has the A10 stereo fitted with CD changer in glove box and steering wheels controls. I have read of £400 options for adding phone kits for iphones etc My wife doesnt want an aftermarket stereo fitted or a parrot type hands free and we dont have £400 to have a kit fitted. Would an A20 radio fit ? We wanted the blue tooth functionality to use with either of our iphone 5c's. Not bothered about the fancy display double din one.

The a20 go for about a £100 on ebay would it require extra wiring or recoding etc (Not bothered about the fancy display double din one. )? Theres a lot of info out there that tells you different stuff.

Any help or advice most appreciated. Thanks in advance

Have a look at this website - Car Audio Accessory Manufacturer - if they do an aftermarket fitting kit for your model changing the audio unit is easy, maintains the steering wheel controls and the look of the car.

Modern audio units from Pioneer, Alpine etc. have all the features built in for a fraction of the cost of the Mercedes units.
