Just wondering if anyone knows what is the procedure for resetting service light

Also what is correct oil for these?

Due to service one at weekend - anything unusual to look out for?

Thanks

I'd keep an eye out for unusual things like someone servicing a car with out the manual that tells them how to reset the service indicator or how much oil to put in.:(

engine oil 5.5l, service reset.. key on..show service due time...press hold dash button 4 seconds

...and don't forget to select the engine grade used as per instructions elsewhere on here.

Sorry guys, I just dont have the AD for 2006 - mine only goes up to 2005. I was just wondering if it was 0w30 or 5w30 - it wasnt quantity I needed !!

I haven't seen this car yet but I think it is the one that you have to reset service indicator using the steering wheel controls so I was hoping somneone could give me that procedure.
Appreciate any help.

Just found out that car is C180 sport coupe - any help with service interval reset would be much appreciated. I have a universal code reader cable (round type plug - I think something like 39 pins but stand corrected) that connects to the E class w210 engine but not sure if it is compatible with C180.

Just some feedback that may be useful to others:
Oil 5w40 Fully Synthetic - 5.5litres, no dip stick need your own and electronics also give you feedback on dashboard - Ex: Add another 1/2 litre or siphon off 1/2 litre etc.

Rear Brakes are pads but handbrake is adjusted using screwdriver via a stud hole in the rear disc hub. Adjuster is at about the 10 o'clock position - usual procedure adjust until it locks up and then back off a notch or two.

Oil filter - paper element - need a 27 spanner to take off cap - a socket and ratchet struggles to get in there against bulkhead.

Pollen filter sits on top of battery.

Siphoning oil to readjust oil level in C180K

Is there anyone who has faced a this situation? As this car does not have a dipstick,I cannot see where I can siphon the oil from. I noticed a red cap at the place where the dip stick should be. Can this cap be just pulled out to insert a flexible tubing to siphon the oil?

I can't be sure about the 180K, but on my 220cdi there is a red cap on the RHS at the rear of the engine, at the place where a dipstick would go. The red cap will pull off. I siphon the oil out of there when I do an oil change.

If your car is an auto, there will be another cap somewhere for the ATF, but I think it is on the left (looking from the front).Don't siphon out of the wrong one!
