Hi, I've just came back from vacation last week while driving on the highway then suddenly my SRS light turns to red. At the same time, I can see 2 fault messages which says "Restraint sys. malfunction Consult workshop" and "PRE-SAFE inoperative See owner's Manual". When I reached home, i tried to search from the Internet and some techies gave tips to unplug the connector under the seat and plug it back. Apparently, it doesn't work. The faulty codes and red light are still there.

Yesterday I went to a trusted workshop and get it checked. The foreman informed me that he tried to reset the faulty code but failed. Then he told me it could be the Airbag Control Unit is faulty. He also advise to change the faulty unit and re-code it. I was told that this can't be replaced with the second hand unit bought from second-hand shop since it won't work with the chassis and so on.

Before I proceed with any steps, I would like to check with the forumers here whether you guys had faced the same issues as mine before... and off course the resolutions... please help....

Did he check it with a Star diag machine?

I think so... This is the device he used to diagnose my car... My guess it should be Star

Ahah... No wonder... I'll get it checked by STAR then

The car got checked by the Star.. It seems the airbag control unit is faulty and need ti be replaced

The device shown in your picture is the latest star macine.

Do you know what the actual fault codes were.

If you need a replacement airbag control unit you will have to get a new one as they are coded to a certain car.
