C220 CDi Coupe tyre sizes

Hi all,

I'm a little concerned as to what the tyre sizes on my car should be. I've got 225/45 17 all round, and I'm sure that's what the car came with. However, I've read some places that the rear tyres should be 245/40 17.

Is this correct, or are the same size all round ok?

Are the rear wheels bigger (more recessed bolt holes)?

245 sounds hugh. My car's on 16" wheels - 7J at the front with 205/55's and 8J at the back, with 225/50's.

It's a right pain having a staggered set up as I can't rotate the tyres to even out the front edges and the rear centres wearing.

I couldn't say to be honest, as the wheels have been swapped around. I'll have to take a look.

I've seen the C180K Coupes with these tyre sizes, but they were different wheels, the ones with lots of spokes where mine are just plain old 5 spoke.
