C230 2001 Battery keeps on dying...please help!

Hi all

Im new to this site...and just happen to stumble upon it in my quest to find a solution to my issue.

I have a C320 2001 W203, last week i went to start the car and it wouldnt start, called the AA and they told me that battery was flat, i have since had a new battery put in (Bosch S3?) and it keeps on dying on me.

I have had the AA out again, and they have told me that the battery is fine...when its not dead, and the alternater is charging the battery when the car is on.

But yet every morning the battery is flat and i need to get a jump start!

Has anyone else experienced these issues and if so what was done to rectify the problem. Ive read that it can be anything from the command unit to the power seat module.

Any help will do im tearing my hair out trying to find out whats wrong with the car.

The only way to see what is wrong is to connect an ammeter in series with the battery, then by pulling the fuses one by one the circuit with the short can be found, something is not turning off somewhere

Common sources of draw, are memory seats and comand, might be worth pulling those fuses first.

Ive disconnected the power seat module.

The car started today...but one thing ive noticed is that the command unit keeps on resetting itself to German..Any ideas?

Sounds familar
You need to see if there is a drain on the battery when everything is shut down otherwise.... If the battery is going flat every day then it sounds like you either have a huge drain, or that battery is duff. How old is the battery and if it has been in the car since new then perhaps it is indeed past its sell by date?

He has a new battery John, though of coarse one can have a new battery go wrong in this manner, I had 3 in a row that lasted 4 weeks each

until i can get it check at a garage.

Although one thing that baffles me is why does the comand keep on going back to German!

This has happend twice today...and the car started first time without having to be jumped.

Also anyone know how to switch off TP on the radio, its doing my nut in!

That happens when it does a reset or loses power. It shouldnt happen in normal use
