I picked my 1998 C250td (77,000miles) up the other day.
All seemed to go well on the drive home:) .
Then I thought it was being a bit sluggish (might be me:o ).
When I took the car on the first test drive I was sure that when I revved the engine (in neutral) with the car stood still that I could hear the turbo spin up (whistle). It doesn't seem to do that anymore:confused: .
It still feels like the turbo kicks in when the car is driven most of the time with the occasional bit of sluggishness.
Any ideas what might (or might not:o ) be wrong with it?

I don’t really want to drive back to the garage (quite a distance from where I live, for them to thrash it down the road and declare it all ok:( ) unless I am sure there is something wrong.
I know I can check the boost pressure with a pressure gauge but cant seem to find any figures.

Thanks
Paul

It will all be Ok and you are just getting more used to it. The boost should be about 1bar or 14.5psi at full boost in high gear.

I replied to your PM last night. Was everything I suggested okay?

I couldn't seem to find that figure anywhere (internet, haynes manual).
I will borrow a boost gauge & give it a check.

Thanks for the message. Yep everything seems ok.

Still a bit strange that I cant hear the turbo spool up when stationary (when I rev the engine) but will see how it goes over the next few weeks.
