C250td wiper probs

Hello all,
I've had a look through the posts, but can't find exactly what I'm looking for, so wondered if any of you more knowledgeable people can advise me.

My wiper (1997 C250td) works fine, parks where it should, doesn't seem to make any noise when working etc., but the mechanism that moves the arm/blade in and out to cover the max. amount of screen isn't working! i.e. the wiper just arcs in a semi circle. I'm relatively handy with spanners etc., could anyone point me in the right direction as to which part has failed? and also if it is a relatively easy repair?

Anyone??? Surely someone knows what might be the problem with my wipers not extending in and out as they should? I just wanted some friendly advice, but my requests seem to fall on deaf ears, lol.. maybe my car isn't new or expensive enough to get the courtesy of a reply!

Guess I'll have to look elsewhere and find a forum that is helpful.

its a common problem - try a search on here for some mods that work - take the mechanism apart and **** the drive gear peg with a centre punch to give it some grip - mine worked for a day or two - but failed - a 210 wiper will fit and is stronger - but the electrics are different - you need to get all the wires back to the fuse box from the doner vehicle
