Hi all , My previous depresion and doom and gloom from last week when I posted More wiper problems Help. has been solved.
My w202 wiper motor was completley dead. i checked all the Fuses and solonoids and alll seemed Ok , you could even hear the click of the wiper soloniod when turning the wipers on , In the end i took the 3 pieces of bulk head/ winscreen plastics of so i could get to the motor.
I undid the top motor cover with a star drive and checked that i had a current output from the 2 electric spades that go into the unit when closed , and yes had electrics.
Next I undid the 3 bolts holding the whole assembly in place , and undid the bottom retaing kit . The motor housing assembly is then accesible once wiper gear has been undone from the motor spindle ( One 13mm Bolt ) Took the motor housing of , again 2 star drive bolts , and there is the problem , all the elctrodes that send the current to the motor where corroded. Clean these up , remove any dirt from theinside of the magnetic cover, and put all back together. This then also allows you to get to the whole mechanisms and grease up etc.
Good luck , Sorry I didnt take a shed load of pics for you all, but i was so intent on getting it working rather than shelling out £600 for a new motor.
