It looks RHD from one of the photos to me - but I might be wrong. Its difficult to tell.
If it is RHD, then I would ask the question, why would a German company pick a RHD model for modifying and exhibiting in Germany?
Surely a LHD model would make logical sense?
Maybe it was always earmarked for the UK market?
But I might be totally wrong.

Nice car and clearly you are very pleased with it. Fingers crossed your research helps establish the history and I'm in the corner that suggests contacting McLaren.

The wheels are not to my personal liking, but this item is all about personal expression.

It's quite normal for logos to be subject to tweaks and changes from one year to the next. Often almost imperceptible (despite costing millions!).
 
Alloys are MBs

Are they? I don't recognise them myself ... if they are M-B they will have a part number stamped on the rear face of one of the "spokes".

I have discovered the exhaust, wheels and bodykit are by a company call Fab Design of Switzerland www.fab-design.com .

I have emailed them asking for any information, including the "McLaren" badge.

I will let you all know when they reply to me.:confused:
 
Welcome to the forum. Hope it turns out to be the real thing as would be rare car. Strange theres no documentation with it would have thought MB would have well advertised this particular model. Good Luck and keep posted.

Heared of that company before, I think D&W that is a German firm use to distribute that make of kit.

We always use to get the big catalogues from Germany for D&W stuff.
 
Reading their website ( as i'm sure you have done already ) , they do appear to offer engine tuning , and even more intriguingly , a Kompressor kit for the C320 .... :rock:

Quite where the McLaren bit comes into it , i don't know ...

It's a nice looking car though , the wheels remind me of the old Lambo Diablo wheels ....

The anniversary model did, think it was the swap over bewteen Coutach and Diablo...
