C36 rs

Thats the one with 290hp, there was a c37 which put out 336hp. Best use of bmw throttle bodies I can think of.

The bhp did not increase much but the torque did :D:D

Transplant it into your w124 Dash? :D

It would make a hell of a car though, imagine it in your 320.

Man! why can't we get these kind of rarities in the uk! When I worked at Mercedes there was a Brabus c36 had everything done to it, genuine c280 sent to Brabus in Germany for a make over, it was part ex'd for a c32 Amg there was a few thing that needed doing to it, it was offered to me for 6k this was 10 years ago now, just couldn't get insured as I was 20, been searching since, never seen one.

Things like heat soak when sat in traffic, sucking hot air in from the engine bay at low speed etc etc.

It's a much more focused application where some of the everyday factors can be ignored

hummmm I recon I might get one to be honest... That is a drift car so i doubt it would be going that "fast"... And if a car like that is running OK with one I dont see how it could damage my engine, it it did, well thats life, lesson learnt and everything! Wouldnt get the cone though, going to order some K&N panel filters.

It'll be going faster than you think - it's rare they get down to town speeds on a run except for the very slowest corners, and they certainly don't sit still in traffic much.

It's also a significant assumption on your part that it was running ok with it, given that you've never driven or even seen the car in the flesh  It is unlikely to cause catastrophic damage, however unless properly mounted, boxed in and fed with cold air it is a backwards step and will lose you power rather than gain. The problem is not with the filter itself, but the environment it is working in.

This is why panel filters are a considerably different proposition to a cone filter.

But mine has a cold air feed straight from my front grille to where the original MB panel filters are!....

It just seems that everyone slates them but has never actually used/tested one themselves! I will get one, do a timed run before and after, then report back on here.... If my car breaks, you will all know not to get one, if it is slower, ill put the MB ones back in, it there is no difference then oh well, the filters could have done with a change anyway!
